Atlanta Track Club Launches atlantamarathon.org

The Atlanta Track Club (ATC), organizer of the Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay, announced the launch of atlantamarathon.org, a new web site focused around the upcoming Atlanta Marathon event on Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Atlanta, Ga.  In addition to providing access to online registration for the 2011 Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay, the new web site gives event participants, spectators and volunteers the opportunity to catch up on the latest information and news regarding the event. 

The Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay starts and finishes at Atlantic Station and features a challenging loop course entirely within the City of Atlanta.  The Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay course takes participants on a tour of the city going past well-known sites and neighborhoods such as Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Institute of Technology, CNN Center, Philips Arena, Georgia Aquarium, the Olympic Rings, Turner Field, Grant Park, Virginia-Highland, Piedmont Park, Buckhead and along stretches of Peachtree Road.  The official course for the Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay will be announced in February, 2011.

Online registration for the 2011 Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay is available at atlantamarathon.org and will remain open through Wednesday, October 26, 2011.   All Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay participants receive a long-sleeve performance shirt as well as a finisher’s medal.  Finishers of the marathon will also receive a commemorative pint glass highlighting some of the sites and neighborhoods along the 26.2 mile course.
