Is the event timed?
All participants in the Atlanta Marathon will be timed using the ChronoTrack B-Tag timing system. The lightweight timing tag stays attached to the back of your race number bib and does not get removed. The B-Tag allows each runner's net time to start as they cross the start line, and their net finish time is calculated when the runner crosses the finish line.
How can I find out my results from the race?
Unofficial results will be published on atlantamarathon.org by the evening of October 28.
Will I be able to print out my official finish time?
Finisher certificates for the Atlanta Marathon will be available online at atlantamarathon.org by the evening of October 28. Certificates can be printed out as a keepsake.
Why do the official results show me running slower than the time I recorded on my watch?
Results list the official or “gun” time of each participant, which is the time elapsed from the moment the race starts until a participant crosses the finish line, as well as the net time which is the time elapsed from when a participant crosses over the start line to when the cross the finish.
The rules governing international road racing, including the Atlanta Marathon, require that gun time be used to determine race placement for overall open and masters winners as well as official timing. Age group awards will be based on the net time.
