What is the registration deadline for the Atlanta Marathon Relay?
All teams must have completed the entire registration process (team captain and all team members) by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 or until the event capacity of 300 relay teams is reached - whichever comes first.
How much does it cost to participate in the Atlanta Marathon Relay?
Entry fees are:
- $180 through 11:59 p.m. 12/31/11
- $200 1/1/12 - 11:59 p.m. on 6/30/12
- $220 7/1/12 - 11:59 p.m. on 10/24 or until the event capacity of 400 teams is reached
May one of my team members run multiple legs in the relay?
Teams of two, three or four people may participate on a relay team. If you are running multiples legs in the relay, they must be consecutive legs. Team members who are planning on running multiple legs must also be sure to wear both the numbers representing their legs of the relay while running. The letter representing your leg (A,B,C, or X) must be visible to course monitors at all times. The team captain will be required to select the number of team members that will be participating in the relay during registration.
What is the minimum age to participate in the Atlanta Marathon Relay?
Participants in the Atlanta Marathon Relay must be at least 14 years of age as of October 28, 2012 in order to participate in the 2012 Atlanta Marathon Relay.
I am running the marathon. May I run a leg on my friend’s relay team as well?
No, you may not participate in both events.
Can I run on more than one relay team?
No, you are only permitted to run on one relay team.
One of our teammates is unable to run now. Can someone else run in his or her spot?
Yes, substitutions will be allowed. All team member substitutions must take place at race number pick-up on Friday, October 26 or Saturday, October 27. The new team member must be present at number pick-up to complete the event waiver. Substitutions may not be made the day of the race.
Something came up and my team can no longer participate in the Atlanta Marathon Relay. Can we get a refund or sell our team?
We're sorry, but we are unable to offer refunds. As stated on the application, race fees are not refundable, nor are they transferable from year to year or to other teams. Once you are signed up, fees are used for event expenses and cannot be returned.
